JAMES BOXWELL

James started playing rugby for the Liberty Saints in 2005 when he was 14 years old. He remembers the early days—when there were just a few players and virtually no facilities. He and the team trained wherever they could find grass. As time went on, the squad evolved and James continued to play, eventually taking on the role of coach. Highlights of his time with the Saints include friendships made, along with the opportunity to pass his rugby knowledge on to the next generation of players.

I have learned a lot of things through rugby, such as the necessary skills on the field like passing, positioning, and tackling. I also learned many skills which have helped me in my day-to-day life. Rugby requires you to be a team player and also a good communicator, both of which have been useful off the field.
