Ian Dorrian

When Ian's friends began playing with the Saints at age eleven, he decided to join in. There was no other local team at the time—the Liberty Saints gave him the unique opportunity to learn and play the game of rugby. He played scrum half and believes playing with the team moulded him into the person and player he is today. There were many highlights for him during his stint as a Saint, including a tournament in Scotland and camping trips with the team, but most of all he recalls the pride of standing on the pitch with his squad.

Ian went on to play with Trinity College RFC and Terenure RFC and has returned to coach at his first club, the Liberty Saints.

I’ll never forget that feeling of knowing I wasn’t just playing a game, but that I was playing for everybody on the team. I owe so much to the coaches who believed in me and gave up their time to invest in me.
